If this announcement surprised you, you probably were not alone. We spoke to Paul Jr. himself and Blizzard this morning on the eve of PAX East to try to figure out what was going on.
"For us, it's nothing new as what we do similar to firms like Blizzard is marketing that is out of the box. Everyone is asking 'How can this work?' and through content we make it clear," Paul Jr. said. "For me I find this to be a better fit than some of the things we've produced that's been extremely successful. The thing I love about this is that it stimulates the fanbase, and from perspective of creative, we're able to build something that can bridge the gap between reality and fantasy. No one is doing anything like this."

Paul Jr.'s Custom-bike shop in New York Paul Jr. Designs will create two real-world bikes to represent the in-game factions Horde and Alliance, and this project will be documented in a seven-part World Of Warcraft webseries that begins next week. At the end of the series, the fans will get to buy WoTLK Gold vote and the winner, either Horde or Alliance, will be announced. Players of the winning faction will be given a free bike in the game, while the others will be left in the dust.
