    The game, which is only available on PC, will be released after a series of delays following its initial announcement in 2016.

    The massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) by Amazon Games will be available for Australians via Steam from 9pm on Tuesday.

    The standard edition is $56.95 while the deluxe edition is $69.95.

    It is tipped to be one of the biggest games of the year, gaining a huge interest during its beta testing where concurrent players on Steam peaked at nearly 200,000.

    The project is a major development for Amazon Games — a division of the online retailer.New World is a massive online multiplayer game in the same genre as long-time titan World of Warcraft.

    There are elements of player-versus-player (PvP) and player-versus-environment (PvE) gameplay, with several different modes.

    Players can invade forts held by other players, or defend their own fort against monsters.

    The game revolves around companies and factions, with players banding together to claim territory on the island.

    There are also the regular MMO elements including levelling, loot and dungeon-like scenarios.Players wash up on Aeternum – a magical island based on the pre-colonisation Americas – that contains veins of a magical mineral called Azoth. This mineral will be used as a form of currency to help players navigate through the game.
