Gear

The following gear contains "Ladder" runewords, but due to their popularity, according to Blizzard, they will be unlocked in Diablo 2 Resurrected for the first time in both single-player and multiplayer (Battle.net) modes. The same goes for ladder uniques and horadric cube recipes.

Helm: 2-Socket Helm with Lore Runeword (Location + Sol)
Armor: 2 socket armor with Stealth Runeword (Tal + Eth)
Shield: 3 Socket Shield with Runeword "Oath of Ancestors" (Ral + Place + Vale)

The Fireball Nova Sorceress relies heavily on skill bonuses and a faster cast rate. This gear represents the minimum you need to play the build effectively. With +3+ on all skills overall and a faster cast rate, you can comfortably farm many areas in Hell's difficulty. The Runeword Shield provides enough resistances, you cover any gaps with the rest of the equipment and/or spells in the inventory.

The Might Aura version is recommended as it allows the Mercenary to deal independently with enemies/bosses that are immune to your main sources of damage, Fire, and Lightning. Otherwise, your mercenary is a tank and a meditation source (regenerate mana faster). The Helm of the Tal Rasha set grants great mercenary survivability.

gameplay

Make sure your Ice Armor buff is permanently active.
Use telekinesis whenever possible to save time.
During combat, position yourself well for optimal damage and pay attention to the enemy's position, movements, and auras.
Use Nova on Fire Immune and Fireball on everything else. Use your mercenary against all monsters/bosses that are immune to your main sources of damage, fire, and lightning.
Use Static Field on non-Lightning Immune enemies with high health and in multiplayer games.
